Cherry Mobile G1 (Android One) to get Android N Beta?

Earlier today Google announced the availability of the Android N Beta program. In this program developers gets an opportunity to test out the pre-release version of the next Android. But as of the moment only selected devices can experience the beta test and listed down below are the eligible devices.

• Nexus 6, Nexus 9, Nexus 5X, Nexus 6P, Nexus Player
• Pixel C
• General Mobile 4G (Android One)

So if you have a Nexus device you can now check wait for the OTA update by registering here

Looking at the list, all Google certified devices and mostly Nexus, but as you noticed there is one Android One device that has been listed and that is the General Mobile 4G which is interesting because, if you remember Cherry Mobile G1 has the same build and specs with the General Mobile 4G. With that said there might be some possibility that the G1 will be part of the Beta test.

I ask some of our friends in Cherry Mobile to confirm if there is a possibility on this but as of the moment we are still waiting for feedback but will monitor this progress and will keep you posted once we gather more information.

But if you’re quite an advance user you probably might want to flash the General Mobile stock ROM to get the update since again this two devices are much likely identical in terms of specs the possibility is still 50/50 since some stock ROM are posted online doesn’t receive OTA update .
