Lenovo and FIFA announced AI driven tech solutions at CES 2026 for FIFA World Cup 2026. FIFA President Gianni Infantino joined Lenovo Chairman Yuanqing Yang on stage at Sphere. The show featured custom AI solutions that will power operations and provide personalized fan experiences.
Lenovo is the Official Technology Partner of FIFA World Cup 2026 in North America later this year. One noticeable difference will be the inclusion of Digital Avatars into officiating technology and match broadcasts.
This involves producing 3D avatars of players using 3D assets and Advanced GenAI technology. The avatars improve the efficiency of the decision making process made by FIFA match officials.
They will feature in 3D animations during offside replays for greater visual contextualization. Art Hu from Lenovo said each player’s exact dimensions will be taken into account for avatars.
Digital Avatars were successfully trialed at the FIFA Intercontinental Cup in Qatar in December. An Intelligent Command Center will support FIFA functional areas and provide AI generated daily summaries.
Lenovo technologies including digital twins of venues will support FIFA to monitor situations around venues. Smart Wayfinding connects cities, fan zones, landmarks, and venues within an interactive space.
Referee body cameras will feature again at FIFA World Cup 2026 for over six billion fans. Lenovo’s AI driven stabilization overlay will improve picture quality for broadcasters and unique viewing experiences.
