MediaTek MTK LTE / 4G Coming this Q1 of 2014

Mediatek is aiming to launch the 4G/LTE SoC . and it turns out that some major China Manufacturers are already testing the prototype of this chipset.

MTK General Manager Xie Qingjiang stated that they will ‘preheat’ the market for a large-scale production in 2015.

the new 28nm SoC is called MT6290 and supports 5-mode 10-band 4G/LTE.This includes GSM/EDGE, TD-SCDMA, TD-LTE, WCDMA, FDD-LTE and more.

There was also a discussion that the 64-bit SoC will be coming soon. but comparing to Qualcomm that already has the RF360 Chipset which is a LTE capable.

this is really a promising SoC for the Mediatek Company.
