The Samsung Galaxy Z TriFold is now official, directly competing with the HUAWEI’s Mate XT tri-fold smartphone. This device has an inward folding mechanism, which reveals a sizable 10-inch AMOLED screen once fully opened.

The screen supports QXGA resolution and has a refresh rate of 120Hz. Powering the tri-fold device is a Snapdragon 8 Elite for Galaxy and a 5,600mAh battery with support for 45W of wired fast charging.
For cameras, the device has a 200-megapixel main camera, 12-megapixel ultra wide, and 10-megapixel telephoto. It’s also set to ship with One UI 8 based on Android 16 out of the box.
Of course, this will feature Galaxy AI. What’s new is the standalone Samsung DeX mode, made to mimic the desktop experience on the foldable.
The Samsung Galaxy Z TriFold is up for pre-orders in China. It starts at CNY 19,999 (~P168K) with 16GB/512GB. It’s also available for CNY 21,999 (~P185K) with 1TB of storage instead.
The Chinese model of the foldable will also feature critical satellite calling via Tiantong. We’ll update readers should we get more information about the tri-fold’s global release.
