TCL has just unveiled the Note A1, a new Android tablet designed to feel like writing on real paper. It targets professionals, students, and creatives who need a digital notepad that’s easy on the eyes.

This device is launching via a Kickstarter campaign, which acts as an early pre-order phase. It positions itself as a direct competitor to devices like the reMarkable Paper Pro and the Amazon Kindle Scribe Colorsoft.

The NxtPaper Display is the Main Attraction

The tablet’s core feature is its 11.5-inch NXTPAPER display. This isn’t E Ink. It’s a special anti-glare LCD with a matte finish that mimics paper.

It supports 16.7 million colors while reducing blue light and screen flickering. The goal is to be more eye-friendly than standard glossy tablets for long reading and writing sessions.

AI-Powered Stylus and Note-Taking

Stylus included and It has dual tips, an integrated eraser, and promises extremely low input latency for a natural feel.

TCL packed the software with AI features. It can convert your handwriting to text, summarize notes, transcribe voice, and even beautify your scribbles. An 8-microphone array helps capture audio clearly for transcription.

Built for Productivity

The tablet is slim at 5.5mm and light at 500 grams. It has a thicker bezel on one side for comfortable one-handed holding. Magnetic pogo pins allow for an optional keyboard attachment.

It supports split-screen multitasking and casts wirelessly to other displays. For security, there’s a fingerprint sensor. It also syncs notes to Google Drive, Dropbox, and OneDrive.

A major advantage is its wide document format support. It handles everything from PDF and EPUB to Word, Excel, and even niche formats like MOBI and CBZ.

Availability

For readers in the Philippines, the global Kickstarter price is set at $419. That converts to roughly PHP 24,600. This is a specialized device, so it’s priced above common media tablets but within the range of other digital notepads.

No official Philippine retail details are available yet. Success on Kickstarter will likely determine broader market release plans.

The TCL Note A1 shapes up to be a compelling tool for anyone who writes or reads a lot digitally. Its paper-like display and smart stylus features could make it a standout in a crowded tablet market.
