TCL announced it will acquire a majority stake in Sony’s home entertainment business. The deal covers TVs and home audio equipment, giving TCL a controlling 51 percent share in home entertainment products.
According to the press release, the partnership leverages Sony’s picture and audio technology alongside brand value and operational expertise. This pairs with TCL’s advanced display technology, global scale advantages, industrial footprint, and cost efficiency.
Sony TVs will maintain the Sony and Bravia branding despite the ownership change. The two companies plan to finalize binding agreements by the end of March 2026.
Subject to regulatory approvals and other conditions, the new company could begin operations in April 2027.
