The Xiaomi 17 Ultra is now official as the company’s new flagship. The company also released a Leica edition of the device with a dual-tone finish and a mechanical zoom ring.
For optics, the phone has triple-rear cameras headlined by a 50-megapixel 1-inch Light Fusion 1050L main with LOFIC. There’s also a 200-megapixel Samsung HPE periscope telephoto with continuous optical zoom and a 50-megapixel ultra wide.
At the front, the phone boasts a 6.9-inch M10 LTPO AMOLED display covered by Dragon Crystal Glass 3.0.. This comes with 2608 x 1200 resolution, 120Hz refresh rate, and 3,500-nit peak brightness.
The screen also houses its 50-megapixel selfie shooter and an ultrasonic fingerprint sensor at the bottom. Powering this is a Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 with up to 16GB LPDDR5X RAM and up to 1TB of UFS 4.1 storage.
In terms of battery, the phone packs a 6,800mAh capacity. It comes with support for 90W of wired fast charging, 50W wireless charging, and 22.5W wired reverse charging.
It will ship with HyperOS 3 out of the box, which comes with AI features. Other notable specs include its four mic array, stereo speakers, IR blaster, and triple IP rating (IP66/IP68/IP69).
The Xiaomi 17 Ultra comes in Black, Cool Smoke Purple, Starry Green, and White. The Leica model will keep the core hardware but will come with a different design and more features.
The features include Leica Moment modes, extra security, and a boxed kit. This comes with a lens cap, lanyard, magnetic case, and cloth.
Both models are set to be available in China on December 27. However, there’s no updates yet on global release at the time of writing as this is a developing story.
