The MediaTek Filogic 8000 has been unveiled at CES 2026 as one of the first chipsets supporting the Wi-Fi 8 standard. This chip was built for gateways, enterprise gear, and client devices like smartphones and laptops.
Notably, it also focuses on reliability in connections over peak speeds. It offers support for multi AP coordination features like Coordinated Beamforming, Coordinated Spatial Reuse, and Multi AP Scheduling.
Plus, it comes with features to help devices operate more effectively in a crowded area where multiple wireless systems overlap. This includes Dynamic Subband Operation, Non-Primary Channel Access, and In-Device Coexistence technologies.
MediaTek noted that latency and reliability are bolstered by using Aggregated PPDU and smarter data rate adaptation on supported devices. We’ll update readers when we get more information on the Filogic 8000 Wi-Fi 8 series. It’s expected to reach consumer production later this year.
