Helios is a real-time video generator that produces up to one-minute clips at around 19.5 fps on a Nvidia H100. Previous realtime models hit higher FPS but with poor quality.
Helios is the first to closely match non-realtime generators like LTX 2 and 1.2.2 on visual quality while staying interactive. Graphs show Helios distillation ranking among the fastest methods by FPS, and its long-form quality outperforms other realtime approaches like reward forcing and self-forcing.
When compared against top non-realtime video models, Helios sits roughly on par in quality despite being optimized for speed. The team has fully open-sourced the project: the GitHub repo includes inference pipelines, training code, and installation steps for local deployment.
For now, H100/H200-level GPUs are required, but the work points toward future consumer-grade realtime video generation.
