MSI GeForce RTX 5090 32G LIGHTNING Z unveiled

MSI GeForce RTX 5090 Lightning graphics card with triple-fan cooler and RGB lighting.

The MSI GeForce RTX 5090 32G LIGHTNING Z graphics card has been unveiled. This marks the return of the brand’s Lightning series.

The card is a liquid-cooled, Blackwell-based card built for extreme overclocking and showcase rigs. Design-wise, it pairs a full-cover cold plate, next-gen high-pressure pump, hybrid-fin radiator, and a custom Lightning fan. The fan is also fitted with carbon-fiber accents and an individually numbered badge.
The card also comes with an 8-inch front display, which is the first on a GPU. This lets users show system stats, artwork, and animations via software.

Underneath, it has a custom PCB with a 3oz copper layer, premium power components, and Dual BIOS tuned for sustained loads. Lightning Hub’s also there to enable web-based tuning for performance, lighting, and screen visuals.

Meanwhile, the Lightning Overdrive mobile app adds real-time monitoring and OC controls via a phone or tablet. The company also added that the MSI GeForce RTX 5090 LIGHTNING has taken first place in 17 HWBOT and 3DMark benchmarks.

This includes Time Spy, Port Royal, and other multiple GPUPI runs. However, production for the card is limited to 1,300 units worldwide. The card’s currently positioned as a collector-grade flagship for enthusiasts, creators, and professional overclockers.
