During China’s Lunar New Year Spring Festival gala, Unitree’s G1 humanoid robots delivered one of the most aggressive public demos of legged robotics to date. The robots executed two‑ to three‑meter vertical jumps, full front and back flips, continuous single‑leg flips, and even wall‑run maneuvers in front of a live audience.
Pulling off those stunts required extreme actuator torque and precise control, with the hardest part being safe landings. The G1s had to estimate mid‑air orientation in real time, anticipate impact timing, and absorb large forces through their legs to avoid slipping or bouncing. One robot even performed a choreographed “drunk wobble” fall before springing back to its feet almost instantly.
Unitree also showcased swarm coordination, controlling dozens of robots from a centralized system to spell out shapes and move through tight formations with near‑zero apparent latency. We’ll update readers when we get more information about Unitree G1 robots among other AI-related news.
