The YouTube Create video editing app is now available via the Google Play Store. This aims to simplify making Shorts and long-form production for creators who find desktop tools too complex.
Currently in beta, it lets users combine clips, photos, and audio. You may also edit them accordingly by trimming, cropping, and applying over 40 transitions.
Other features include adjusting video speed, resizing for portrait or landscape orientation, or tending to square formats for other platforms. Creators may also access thousands of royalty-free music tracks and sound effects with an auto-sync feature to match the beat.
Plus, the app lets you clean up background noise or remove backgrounds themselves with a cutout effect. Another neat feature is that users can record voiceovers directly in the timeline.
Basic color controls consist of built-in filters, stickers, GIFs, emojis, animated text, and other visual effects. This streamlines the process that would usually require the use of multiple apps.
Again, YouTube Create is in beta and works on devices running Android 8.0 or later with at least 4GB RAM. Google is set to roll out more features over time. Finished videos can be exported and uploaded straight to a user’s YouTube channel from within the app.
